AC Milan have shared a positive injury recovery update on Christian Pulisic, with a date being pencilled in for the USMNT star’s return to action.

The United States international was forced out of a Serie A clash with Atalanta on December 6. A minor tear in his right calf muscle has kept Pulisic sidelined for three games in domestic and Champions League competition – with there fears that his 2024 may be over.

Milan are, however, optimistic that the American forward will figure in their final fixture of the calendar year. The Rossoneri, who returned to winning ways in the Italian top-flight against Verona on Friday, are due to host Roma on December 29.

Pulisic could come back into contention for that contest, although no risks will be taken on his fitness given how important he has become to the collective cause at San Siro. Milan boss Paulo Fonseca has said: "I'm optimistic about Pulisic for Roma, but we'll see during the week."
WHAT NEXT FOR PULISIC & AC MILAN?
If Pulisic fails to make it back in time for a clash with Roma, then his return could come in a Supercoppa Italia semi-final date with Juventus on January 3. The American has been in impressive form this season, posting club-high figures for goals (eight) and assists (five).
